One-of-a-kind indigo-dyed silk textile by Yang Chunyan, hand-drawn in beeswax using Miao batik techniques. At the center of the composition is a four-part butterfly form, surrounded by smaller butterfly and spiral motifs. Within Miao cosmology, butterfly imagery carries associations with ancestry, creation, and passage between worlds.
